The Portofino Hotel & Marina

This is a hidden gem in SoCal! We loved our 1-bedroom suite with a dual-space fireplace, huge bathroom with a retro bathtub & a large balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We also had 2 days of sunny, clear skies to add to the relaxing experience for a milestone we were celebrating. The breakfast at Baleen & esp. the blueberry muffins were super delicious. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway.

Elisa was awesome! She took care of us from the moment we walked in and make our stay enjoyable and memorable. It was our first time to California as a family and she went above and beyond to make it special. My wife loves views of the ocean. We were surprised our first night with a special delivery of macarons and a bottle of champagne. Shouting it out here since TripAdvisor wouldn't allow me to leave a proper review. Also a big thank you to Mac Hines (IG > mccracken_hines), Shah, Gregory, Scarlet. You were amazing hosts, made us feel like royalty. The Portofino was a delightful stay, we were there for a full week. Valet service was friendly and attentive. Easy access to walk (or bike) the boardwalk to beach areas north and south. Had great conversations in the lounge, a very inviting space with inspiring views of the harbor. BTW hotel management, Google Maps is where you need to focus if you want more calls, booked rooms, and events. The trend is clear, Maps is where people search for your reputation online. Right now you're squandering this window of attention.

We only stayed one night, but it was a great experience for me and my wife. We traveled for our 20th anniversary and they took really good care of us. The location is great; the rooms were clean and we had a really good breakfast at their restaurant.

I would love to say should Chelsea, Shawn, Craig & Samantha. It’s been a busy week but I couldn’t go without giving this hotel Their flowers! Chelsea was absolutely amazing as I walked in, she created a list of nearby vegan food options for me & her personality & greeting made my first impression of the hotel a 10/10! Shawn had top tier customer service, he worked valet but I really appreciate how he was so friendly & Welcoming each day that I was there. Craig the manager was absolutely amazing & cared about our stay! Samantha was also a pleasant gem! I honestly loved the location & scenery. I would definitely book here every time I come to LA. It was truly a hidden gem & I could not be anymore thankful. I’m looking forward to trying the bikes next time. The hotel felt like vacation itself & I honestly didn’t want to leave. Next time I just plan to visit a week there & explore the beach, I really dint have to go any further! The lobby was amazing & would highly recommend the Portofino pours, I didn’t try it but I can see how anyone would love it.

We have had a really nice, relaxing stay. We came out to LA for my sister’s baby shower and decided to also celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary by staying here. We had originally booked at the Shade and had a sudden change of heart. We are so happy with our choice. The staff went out of their way to take care of us for our anniversary. We ordered breakfast in bed on Friday morning and the food arrived promptly. It was delicious. Totally worth it. The beds are very comfortable (we are snobs when it comes to hotel beds.. their bed exceeded our expectation). The ocean view room was incredible with boats sailing by. We are very sad to leave tomorrow and can’t wait to come back in the future.

Our stay at the Portofino Hotel & Marina was fantastic. The location right on the Redondo Beach harbor made our trip feel peaceful and scenic. We loved waking up to the view of sailboats and even heard the sea lions in the evening—it added to the charm. The room was clean, modern, and had a cozy balcony where we enjoyed morning coffee. The staff members were incredibly friendly and attentive; they even offered medicine when my wife needed it in the morning, which helped her feel better and made us feel truly cared for. Overall, we’d definitely recommend the Portofino to anyone looking for a relaxing waterfront escape.

This was our second time staying at the Portofino Hotel & Marina, and both times were for special occasions (last year for Valentine’s Day and this year for our anniversary). And wow - they really know how to make you feel like kings! From the moment we walk in, we’re greeted with “Happy Anniversary!” and sparkling wine, which immediately sets the tone. The rooms are always super spacious with the nicest ocean views and sunsets. We always book the king bath room and the tub is HUGE, such a luxury and perfect for a relaxing night in. This time, they went above and beyond and surprised us with a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate-covered strawberries delivered to our door with a handwritten card wishing us a happy anniversary - we were gagged! The attention to detail and kindness is unmatched. Special thank you to Front Desk Supervisor Shawnta Cattron for always making us feel so special: not just this time, but the last time we stayed too. She’s so warm and welcoming and truly makes the experience even better. If you’re thinking about a romantic getaway or even just a staycation to unwind, do it.

I had NO idea this cute little marvel existed! I absolutely loved this amazing hotel. The rooms are quaint and the views are amazing. I loved every moment of it. The atmosphere was so delightful that I felt more like I had entered a bed and breakfast in England somewhere rather than a hotel just outside of L.A. The sealions were so fun to listen to and watch outside of my lenai and the seagulls made for a lovely soundtrack to my afternoon tea.
